A total of 4,806 passengers, drivers, and helpers were stranded in 103 ports across various regions in the Philippines.

According to a Maritime Safety Advisory from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), issued between 8 a.m. and 12 noon, Monday, November 10.

The PCG reported that operations at several ports were affected by #UwanPH, prompting authorities to halt sea travel in multiple regions due to rough sea conditions and strong winds.

The affected regions include Central Luzon, Central Visayas, Bicol, Northeastern Mindanao, Western Visayas, Southern Tagalog, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Southern Visayas.

A total of 2,222 rolling cargoes, 44 vessels, and 20 motorbancas were reported stranded, while 392 vessels and 123 motorbancas took shelter for safety.

Among the hardest-hit areas is the Bicol Region, with 2,589 stranded passengers and helpers, 1,145 rolling cargoes, and six vessels unable to sail. In Eastern Visayas, 935 passengers and 494 rolling cargoes were stranded, while Southern Tagalog recorded 744 stranded passengers and 276 rolling cargoes.

In Central Luzon, 100 passengers and drivers, 25 rolling cargoes, and six vessels were stranded, while 41 vessels and 14 motorbancas sought shelter.

Meanwhile, in Northern Mindanao, 216 passengers and 18 rolling cargoes were stranded across several ports, including Cagayan de Oro, Tagoloan, and Ozamiz.

Currently, Typhoon Uwan continues to weaken as it moves away, located 175 kilometers west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur.

It packs maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center, gustiness of up to 150 km/h, and is moving northwestward at 10 km/h, according to the 4:00 p.m. bulletin from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
