The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has intensified its presence at Ormoc Port in Leyte as passenger volume continues to surge during Maundy Thursday of the Holy Week.
Led by Jonathan Marfil, Commander of Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas, personnel have been actively assisting travelers through the agency’s Passenger Assistance Center to ensure smooth and orderly port operations.
The PCG is working alongside several units, including Coast Guard Station Western Leyte, Coast Guard Sub-Station Ormoc, the Marine Environmental Protection Unit–Eastern Visayas, Coast Guard K9–Western Leyte, and the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary.
These coordinated efforts aim to maintain safety, security, and efficiency amid the influx of passengers.
According to the PCG, the deployment underscores its commitment to public service, especially during peak travel periods like Holy Week.
Authorities assured that monitoring and assistance operations will remain in place to guarantee the safe and convenient travel of all passengers passing through Ormoc Port.
