President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. assured the public of the government's preparations to ensure safe, orderly, and convenient travel and cemetery visits during the observance of Undas 2026.
In a video message, Marcos said various government agencies are already implementing measures to manage the expected influx of travelers from October 29 to November 3.
“Pinaghahandaan na ng pamahalaan ang iba't ibang pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan para sa Undas,” Marcos said.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is conducting inspections of airports, seaports, and bus terminals, while road repairs are being expedited and targeted for completion by October 29 to minimize traffic disruptions.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has also issued over 1,000 special permits for additional buses, while the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) will implement measures to accommodate additional passenger trips.
Meanwhile, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) will ensure sufficient personnel at immigration counters and maximize the use of e-gates to facilitate passenger processing.
In Metro Manila, more than 2,000 Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) personnel will be deployed to manage traffic, particularly around cemeteries.
Marcos also assured the public that cemeteries, churches, and other crowded areas are being inspected, with police personnel and emergency responders placed on standby.
He urged Filipinos to plan their trips ahead, observe cemetery regulations, and exercise caution when traveling and lighting candles.
“Ang Undas ay panahon ng paggunita at pag-alala sa ating mga mahal sa buhay. Nawa'y maging payapa at makabuluhan ang pagdalaw ng bawat pamilyang Pilipino,” he said.
