President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. announced that courts have issued warrants of arrest against contractor Sarah Discaya and nine others in connection with alleged “ghost” flood control projects in Davao Occidental worth about P96.5 billion.
In a video update on Thursday, December 18, Marcos said, “Naglabas na ng warrant of arrest ang korte laban sa sampung pangunahing sangkot sa anomalyang ito,” adding that the accused face graft and malversation charges that are non-bailable. “Hindi po bailable ito,” the President stressed.
Marcos confirmed that Discaya is already under the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation, while eight other suspects—identified as DPWH officials—have expressed willingness to surrender. “Kabilang na po rito si Sarah Discaya na sa kasalukuyan ay nasa kustodiya ng NBI,” he said.
The President vowed to continue pursuing all those involved, saying the government will ensure accountability and recovery of public funds. “Titiyakin po natin na hindi lamang sila makakasuhan kundi maibalik ang pera na binayad ng ating mga kababayan sa kaban ng ating bansa,” Marcos added.
