During his State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 28, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. announced several comprehensive health initiatives for dialysis and kidney transplant patients.
The President highlighted the three times a week dialysis which will be already free for the whole year, including the medicines of the patient.
“Ang session ninyo na 3x a week, libre na sa buong taon, libre na rin ang inyong mga kinakailangan na gamot,” he announced.
Along with this announcement, he also stated that kidney transplant patients should have no worry about their post-operational expenses and medicines as PhilHealth will be in charge of covering all of the patient’s charges.
The President also shared that he already push through the ‘Zero-balance billing’ on public hospitalizations, a less-worry to all patient
“Itinuloy na po natin ang ‘Zero-balance billing’, libre po. Ibig sabihin ang serbisyo sa basic accommodation sa mga DOH na hospital wala ng babayaran ang pasyente, dahil bayad na ang bill ninyo,” the President said.
