San Miguel Beermen grabbed a 2–1 lead in their 2025–26 PBA Philippine Cup semifinals series after a hard-fought 91–85 win over sister team Barangay Ginebra on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Don Trollano led the charge with 33 points on 11-of-21 shooting, including 3-of-6 from three and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line, adding six rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 32 minutes. His all-around performance fueled San Miguel’s back-to-back victories and kept Ginebra at bay in the fourth quarter.

Jericho Cruz Perez contributed 19 points, while Mo Tautuaa added 13, giving the Beermen multiple scoring options. San Miguel built a steady lead through the first three quarters, going up 26–21 after Q1, 47–41 at halftime, and 74–63 after the third, before holding off a late Gin Kings rally.

Barangay Ginebra was paced by Scottie Thompson’s 17 points, with Japeth Aguilar and RJ Abarrientos scoring 14 each. Despite flashes of offense, Ginebra couldn’t overcome San Miguel’s timely scoring and defensive stops down the stretch.
