Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson on Thursday hit back at Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano, calling his “demolition job, witch hunt and trial by publicity” accusations “pathetic” and saying Cayetano was ‘quaking in his boots’ as evidence of alleged anomalies in Taguig projects continues to unfold.
Lacson made the remark in response to Cayetano’s earlier statements accusing him of spreading “fake news” and unfairly linking him to alleged irregularities involving flood control and other infrastructure projects in the city.
“PATHETIC. Imagine someone ‘quacking’ on FB live with accusations of a politically motivated demolition job, fake news and trial by publicity and at the same time ‘quaking in his boots’ every time each piece of evidence of corruption in his turf unfolds before his eyes,” Lacson said in an X post on September 3.
Cayetano has denied any wrongdoing and he would “give clarity rather than confusion” in addressing Lacson’s allegations.
He also described as “unfair” the accusations being linked to him in connection with the flood control issue in Taguig.
Lacson, however, said all evidence gathered by his team had already been submitted to the Office of the Ombudsman for appropriate action.
