President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. led the launch of the Pasig Bigyang Buhay Muli (PBBM) Phase 4 project on Sunday, October 19, at the Lawton Pasig River Ferry Station, as part of the administration’s initiative to restore the beauty of Manila and promote sustainable travel and tourism.

In a Palace briefing on Monday, October 20, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro discussed the project with members of the Malacañang Press Corps, emphasizing the government’s goal of reviving the historic Pasig River into a vibrant and environmentally sustainable urban space.

Phase 4 of the PBBM program aims to make the riverside area more walkable and bike-friendly through the construction of well-designed, clean, and pleasant walkways and bike lanes.

The 530-meter segment will also feature commercial spaces to help stimulate local business and community activity.

Beyond infrastructure and tourism, President Marcos highlighted the project’s commitment to innovation and sustainability through the river transport modernization program.

He announced that the MB Delarai—a locally designed electric ferry—will become operational next month, marking a step forward in cleaner and more efficient river transport.

The President also revealed that testing continues for the Clearbot, a solar-powered, AI-enabled robotic vessel designed to assist in cleaning the Pasig River.

“All these efforts are part of a larger vision to create a culturally rich urban environment where history, nature, and modern living come together seamlessly,” Marcos said.
