Fourteen firecracker-related injuries were recorded at Pasig City during the New Year’s celebration.
According to Pasig City Chief of Police PCol. Hendrix Mangaldan, the data was recorded from December 31, 2025, until Thursday morning, January 1, RH Edniel Parrosa reported.
Based on the report, victims of firecracker-related incidents in Pasig City only sustained minor injuries.
Before the New Year’s celebrations, Mayor Vico Sotto did not issue a special mayor’s permit for the sale of firecrackers, despite some individuals asking him to.
With this, Mangaldan said he considers the 2026 New Year’s celebration peaceful.
Meanwhile, the Marikina Police data recorded around seven firecracker-related injuries.
Parrosa reported that as of Thursday morning, at least five were rushed to the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center, and two to St. Vincent General Hospital.
