

UPDATED: A police officer was shot after responding to a report of alleged illegal discharge of firearms in Barangay 61 along Arnaiz Street in Pasay City.
According to a report by Jecelle Ricafort, Pasay City Police Chief Col. Joselito De Sesto told DZRH News that the officer was hit in the shoulder after the suspect opened fire on responding personnel. The injured officer, assigned to Sub-Station 2 of the Pasay City Police Station, was immediately brought to a hospital.
According to police, the incident stemmed from a call from a concerned citizen reporting a man allegedly firing a gun in the area. When responding officers arrived, the suspect reportedly fired at them, prompting a brief exchange of gunfire.
The suspect managed to flee the scene, police said.
Authorities have already identified the suspect as a 28-year-old man, who is currently being pursued in follow-up operations.
The National Capital Region Police Office confirmed the incident and said investigations and manhunt operations are ongoing.
