Normal operations have resumed along the EDSA Busway lanes from Roxas Boulevard to EDSA-Orense on both the southbound and northbound directions last Sunday, January 4, 2026.
The reopening was announced by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) after the completion of rehabilitation works along some areas of EDSA. The move comes ahead of the anticipated return to school and work after the holiday season, aiming to ease traffic flow and improve public transport efficiency.
According to DPWH, the reopening of the EDSA Busway lanes is part of the government’s broader rehabilitation program for EDSA, carried out in compliance with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to make travel along the country’s main thoroughfare safer, smoother, and more comfortable for motorists and commuters.
Authorities added that rehabilitation works will continue in the remaining sections of EDSA. Starting January 5, 2026, road repairs will be conducted at nigh from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., to minimize disruption to daily traffic and public transportation services.
