Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte sought travel clearance from the House of Representatives to visit 17 countries from December 15 to February 20,2026.

In a letter dated December 1, Duterte asked House Speaker Faustino Dy III for travel clearance to fly to Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, United States, Australia, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, and Singapore.

The lawmaker assured that the funds to be used during his trips were personal funds. While overseas, Duterte also requested to be allowed to attend sessions online, according to RH 12 Milky Rigonan.

Following its Christmas break, the House sessions will resume on January 19.
