The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pantukan expressed deep concern over a shooting incident that occurred outside the premises of Kolehiyo ng Pantukan in Panutukan, Davao de Oro, on Wednesday, June 25, and assured the public that authorities are actively investigating the case.
In an official statement, the LGU said the incident took place at around 12:25 p.m. outside the school's jurisdiction and did not occur within the campus grounds.
“Based on initial reports, the incident took place outside the school's jurisdiction and did not occur within the campus grounds,” the statement read.
Local officials said they are closely coordinating with law enforcement agencies and other concerned offices to support the ongoing investigation and ensure accountability for those responsible.
“The LGU is currently coordinating closely with law enforcement authorities and other concerned agencies to support the ongoing investigation and ensure that those responsible are held accountable in accordance with the law,” the statement added.
The municipal government also pledged to provide assistance to the victim and the victim’s family during this difficult time.
“The LGU assures the public that it is committed to extending all necessary assistance and support to the victim and his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and his loved ones,” the LGU said.
Authorities further reassured residents that the safety and security of students and the community remain a top priority. The public was urged to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information while the investigation is ongoing.
“We assure the public that the safety of our students and residents remains a top priority. We encourage everyone to remain calm and refrain from spreading unverified information,” the statement noted.
The LGU said additional updates will be released as more verified information becomes available from authorities handling the case.
