Senator Kiko Pangilinan has reintroduced his proposed Anti-Ticket Scalping Act in response to growing concerns over ticket resellers selling concert and event tickets at inflated prices, sometimes triple their original cost.

The move comes after Senator Raffy Tulfo expressed frustration over the persistent ticket scalping problem.

Pangilinan criticized the practice of bulk-buying by scalpers, which leaves genuine fans unable to access tickets at face value.

“Panahon na para wakasan ang pang-aabuso. Kaya isinusulong natin ang panukalang Anti-Ticket Scalping Act para protektahan ang mga konsyumer laban sa mga mapagsamantalang reseller,” Pangilinan said in a social media post.

He also urged scalpers to act with conscience, warning that their exploitative practices hurt ordinary consumers.

“Sa mga scalper, magkaroon naman sana kayo ng konsensya. Clearly, merong mga scalpers na nagsasamantala. Kung hindi ubos na yung ticket, napakamahal,” the senador pointed out.

The senator hopes the legislation will curb abusive reselling and ensure fair access to events for the public.
