Two children died after getting trapped inside a car parked on a road side in Brgy. Malabanias, Angeles City, Pampanga, according to reports.
Daily Guardian, a news outlet based in Iloilo, reported that the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office - Angeles City confirmed responding to the two children who were found lifeless inside a maroon Toyota Vios last Friday, March 21.
The children were identified as cousins, aged two and three, respectively.
Based on the closed-circuit footage circulating on social media, the two were seen playing in the road, and seconds later, they ran towards the right door of the unlocked maroon Toyota Vios.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, March 22, the Angeles City Information Office said Angeles City Mayor Carmelo 'Pogi' Lazatin Jr. extended his condolences to the families of the two minors.
"Mayor Lazatin said the case is now being investigated," it said.
In another Facebook post, the Angeles City Information Office said the families of the two children received free caskets from the Angeles City Public Cemetery and Crematorium as directed by Lazatin.
The Angeles City mayor assured that the bereaved families would receive the necessary help they need.
