In response to Senator Imee Marcos’ criticisms of the Senate’s recent performance, the Palace pointed out that the Minority senators began the leadership reshuffle and boycotted sessions for three consecutive days, among other actions that have prevented the legislative body from passing more bills.

Castro added that the consequences of the Senate Minority bloc’s conduct should serve as a lesson to all government officials that to serve the public is to prioritize the country’s interests over their own.

In a video message shared from her official social media account on July 30, Senator Marcos called the Senate’s low legislative output a “failure.”

Pambihira napaka-palpak namin!” she said.
