Malacañang on Wednesday said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has not discussed the reported impeachment plot against Ombudsman Jesus Crispin "Boying" Remulla, adding that the Palace has yet to see any formal complaint on the matter.
During the Palace press briefing, Palace Press Secretary Claire Castro was asked whether Malacañang had been informed of reports about a possible impeachment complaint against the Ombudsman and what the administration's position was.
Castro said the issue has not been taken up during the president's meetings and remains unverified.
She also noted that while the reported impeachment move has surfaced in news reports, she was not aware of any official complaint having been filed.
Given the absence of a formal complaint, Castro said it would be premature for Malacañang to issue a position on the matter.
The palace maintained that it would refrain from commenting further until a formal impeachment complaint is filed or concrete developments emerge.
