Malacañang on Monday strongly denied public claims that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is at his “weakest” amid ongoing corruption controversies in government.

Palace Press Secretary Atty. Claire Castro said that despite calls for the President to step down—from both opposition groups and political allies—Marcos continues to actively pursue investigations and hold officials accountable.

“At his weakest? At this time, he has been conducting investigations, taking multiple actions to ensure accountability. Many have already been arrested. Many have been charged. Funds have been recovered. Are these the signs of a weak leader?” Castro said in a statement.

She added that influential figures have already been imprisoned, highlighting what she described as concrete outcomes of the administration’s anti-corruption efforts.

Castro also questioned the implications of calls for the President’s resignation, stressing that critics have not explained how the government would function if Marcos were to step down.

The comments come amid a wave of public scrutiny and calls for accountability over alleged anomalies in various government agencies.
