Malacañang said on Tuesday that it has no information yet regarding reports of a possible Cabinet revamp under the Marcos administration.
According to Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro, there has been no update yet from President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. regarding any changes in the Cabinet. “Sa ngayon po ay wala pa rin pong ipinapaabot sa atin na update. Pero kapag mayroon, ibibigay ko po agad sa inyo,” Castro said during the press briefing at the Palace. This comes after reports claiming that Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda, Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Acting Secretary Rolando Toledo, and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla are allegedly on the “chopping block." She added that any developments will be promptly communicated to the media once she receives an update. Malacañang also reassured the public that the President’s trust and confidence in his Cabinet secretaries remain intact despite circulating speculations. Earlier, DICT Secretary Henry Aguda denied reports claiming that he had already resigned from his post. Meanwhile, there are also reports suggesting that UP professor Kim Robert de Leon may be appointed as the permanent Secretary of the DBM, replacing acting Secretary Rolando Toledo. There are also claims that former DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos may be appointed as the new Justice Secretary.
