Malacañang has approved the overseas travel of Vice President Sara Duterte from April 23 to May 15, 2026, according to an official travel authority issued by Excecutive Secretary Ralph G. Recto.
The document, dated April 22 and released by the Office of the President, authorizes the vice president to visit multiple countries, including the Netherlands, South Korea, Belgium, Germany, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The travel authority states that Duterte will be on leave of absence during the trip and that the travel will be at no cost to the government. It also supersedes any previously issued authority covering similar dates.
The approval was issued pursuant to existing government regulations on official foreign travel, particularly Memorandum Circular No. 35, series of 2017, which outlines guidelines for such trips.
No specific details were provided regarding the purpose of the vice president's visits, but the authorization formalizes her clearance to travel abroad for the stated period.
