The Palace refuted talks of changes in the leadership of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), according to a Friday report.
RH 14 Leth Narciso reported that, according to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, rumors of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. considering former Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda as incumbent DICT Secretary Henry Aguda’s replacement are false.
The DICT oversees the government’s digital transformation programs, cybersecurity initiatives, and expanding internet connectivity across the country.
On Thursday, Castro announced that former Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Frasco was appointed as presidential adviser for sustainable and resilient communities, following talks of changes among the agency’s top officials.
