Malacañang denied reports that the aircraft carrying First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos from Iloilo on Monday, March 16, experienced landing gear problems.
In a press briefing held in Cebu, Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro, said, “Kuryente lang po ‘yon, hindi po totoo.”
She emphasized that the information circulating about the alleged landing gear issue was inaccurate.
The First Lady was in Cebu over the weekend to attend events related to the Philippines’ hosting of the 2026 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Summits. She also inspected venues to be used for the regional meetings.
No further details were provided by Castro, but she reiterated that the reported incident did not occur.
President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. accompanied the First Lady in Cebu for several activities, including inspection of the ASEAN event sites.
