President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has offered a new government position to former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Nicolas Torre III, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro confirmed on Tuesday.
Castro declined to provide specifics but assured that the offer has been made.
“Hindi pa po natin maisisiwalat ang detalye patungkol dito pero confirmed po na may inaalok na posisyon,” she said when asked about Torre’s next role.
The development comes a day after Torre was relieved as PNP Chief, effective August 26, 2025, due to undisclosed issues within the organization.
“Mayroong mga issues na hindi napagkasunduan and we just have to respect the wisdom of the President on this matter,” Castro added.
The Palace said Torre’s new post will be formally announced once details are finalized and after the former police chief accepts the appointment.
