Malacañang on Thursday urged individuals making allegations against President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to present strong evidence and official documentation before making public accusations, following claims raised in a Senate hearing involving alleged cash deliveries.

The call came after Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro responded to testimony by Bernard Tube, a former Marine who claimed during a Senate hearing that he and former congressman Zaldy Co allegedly delivered suitcases of cash to the President’s residence in Paoay, Ilocos Norte.

During the briefing, a reporter asked for the Palace’s reaction to the accusation, noting that the claim was made without any supporting evidence presented during the hearing.

Castro strongly rejected the allegation, stressing the need for substantiation.

“Pakita muna nila ebidensya, madali kasi magturo. Lalo na kung ang balak mo lang naman talaga ay manggiba at magsilbing isang obstructionist or destabilizer. So dapat patunayan nila, bigyan nila tayo ng dokumento at hindi yung salita lamang,” Castro said.

The Palace emphasized that serious accusations against the president must be backed by verifiable proof and cautioned against what it described as unsubstantiated claims that could mislead the public.

The statement follows growing public attention on the Senate testimony, which included allegations involving alleged financial transactions and high-level political figures.
