Malacañang has appealed for peaceful conduct during demonstrations scheduled for September 21, as Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. respects the public’s right to air grievances and call for change.

Castro said the President is listening to the concerns of Filipinos and that the administration is continuing government projects and efforts to hold those allegedly involved in anomalous flood control projects accountable. The Palace has previously said investigations into alleged irregularities involving flood control projects remain ongoing.

“Karapatan niyo po ang magsalita, karapatan niyo po ang manawagan, huwag na lang po sana maging marahas,” Castro said.

She emphasized that protests should not result in violence, injuries, or loss of life, while noting that police authorities are prepared for the September 21 demonstrations.

Castro reiterated that citizens have the right to express their views through public gatherings, saying their calls should be heard and conveyed to the government.
