The administration of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. assured the public of sufficient fuel supply and sustained government assistance as geopolitical tensions continue to drive volatility in global oil markets.
During a Malacañang press briefing, Press Officer Claire Castro said the government’s top priority remains the safety of Filipinos abroad and the welfare of citizens at home.
“Walang dahilan para mag-panic dahil patuloy na gumagawa ng hakbang ang pamahalaan,” Castro emphasized.
More than 2,000 overseas Filipino workers have been safely repatriated from conflict-affected areas, while thousands more received food, shelter, and logistical assistance through coordinated efforts of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and other agencies.
At home, the government has implemented transport relief measures, financial assistance programs, and expanded food distribution initiatives to ease the burden of rising prices.
The administration is also strengthening agricultural support, including fuel and fertilizer subsidies and financial aid of P10,000 each to over 23,000 farmers affected by drought in Isabela, Cagayan, and Nueva Vizcaya.
Castro added that enhanced storage and drying facilities for farmers are being deployed to improve productivity and raise farmgate prices, alongside the rollout of cold storage systems for onion farmers to reduce post-harvest losses.
