Malacañang has accepted the resignation of Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda, Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla said Saturday.
Remulla announced the development during an interview on DZRH’s Executive Session program on Oct. 10.
“Nagkaproblema tayo sa DICT. Batang departamento ang DICT but started off on the wrong foot,” Remulla said.
“Nag-resign [si Aguda]. Tinanggap na yung resignation,” he added.
Earlier this week, Aguda had denied reports about his position in the department on Wednesday, Oct. 7, saying he remained focused on his responsibilities and ensuring continuity in the DICT’s operations.
“As Secretary of DICT, I serve at the pleasure of the President, and I fully recognize and respect the President’s prerogative in matters concerning his Cabinet and his administration,” Aguda said in a statement.
“My focus remains on carrying out my responsibilities and serving the Filipino people to the best of my ability,” he added.
