The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) invited stargazers and space enthusiasts to its free telescope viewing of the Total Lunar Eclipse, which will occur on Tuesday evening.

The viewing will be held from 5:58 p.m. to 10:25 p.m. at the PAGASA Astronomical Observatory in Quezon City. Designated public viewing areas will be ready for guests.

The agency informed visitors that public parking in the observatory grounds will not be available as it will be occupied by viewing equipment such as telescopes. They advised visitors to arrange alternative parking, carpool, or use public transportation, and to come early.

During a lunar eclipse, the moon will take on a blood red color as it crosses the Earth’s umbral shadow. This celestial phenomenon is expected to last approximately 58 minutes, after which the moon will begin to exit the Earth’s shadow.
