Several parts of the country may experience cloudy skies, rain showers, and thunderstorms today, October 8, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Based on PAGASA’s 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is affecting the Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan, while the northeasterly windflow is affecting the eastern section of Northern Luzon.
The Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan may experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Moderate to occasionally heavy rains may trigger flash floods and landslides in affected areas.
Meanwhile, cloudy skies with rains are expected over Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, and Marinduque due to the northeasterly windflow.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy thunderstorms may also result in flash floods and landslides, particularly in vulnerable areas.
Moderate to strong winds are expected over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, with moderate to rough seas in the affected coastal waters.
The public is advised to remain alert and monitor the latest weather updates and advisories from PAGASA.
