The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) continues to monitor Tropical Storm “Nuri” outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday morning, March 12.

According to PAGASA, as of 3:00 a.m., the tropical storm was last located 1,415 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h and gusts of up to 80 km/h.

The storm is moving east-northeast at 10 km/h.

In its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the trough of the tropical storm is affecting parts of eastern Mindanao, particularly Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte, which may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon.

The rest of Cagayan Valley, as well as Aurora, Apayao, and Kalinga, will experience cloudy skies with light rains caused by the northeast monsoon.

Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao, along with Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.
