The easterlies are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of Luzon and the Visayas on Tuesday, October 13, according to PAGASA.
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon may experience scattered rains and thunderstorms.
The weather bureau warned that moderate to at times heavy rains could trigger flash floods or landslides in affected areas.
Meanwhile, Batanes and the Babuyan Islands are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeasterly windflow.
Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, the rest of Central Luzon and the rest of CALABARZON may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA also cautioned that severe thunderstorms could trigger flash floods or landslides in these areas.
As of 3 a.m. Tuesday, a tropical depression was being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), approximately 2,970 kilometers east of Central Luzon.
The weather disturbance had maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 70 kph. It was moving west-northwestward at 15 kph.
PAGASA advised the public to continue monitoring official weather updates and remain alert for possible flooding and landslides, particularly in areas experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall.
