The Philippine Embassy in Israel announced that overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Israel may now undergo the voluntary repatriation program.
According to the Embassy’s announcement on Wednesday, June 18, OFWs may undergo the program if they wish to return to the Philippines. It is made available through the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
Interested OFWs may send an email to [email protected] and indicate their readiness to do voluntary repatriation.
Applicants are reminded to include the following: passport copy (with picture and signature on the page); latest visa; and mobile number.
OWWA will contact registrants regarding the next steps in the process.
Earlier today, RH Jecelle Ricafort reported that 150 Filipinos are seeking government assistance to return to the Philippines, amid the rising tensions between Iran and Israel.
Subsequently, an OFW in Israel said he is still waiting for the Philippine Embassy in Israel’s update on whether they will need to evacuate.
