The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has released an advisory for Filipinos currently in Israel, as the whole country is placed under essential activity status and Alert Level 3 has been imposed.
Due to Israel’s essential activity status, classes in all schools have been suspended, workplaces—save essential services—have likewise been closed, and gatherings are prohibited.
The agency urged Filipinos to remain in their homes and always be ready to take refuge in bomb shelters, safe rooms or “mamad” in case of a missile alert. Moreover, all have been encouraged to heed official reminders and instructions from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Home Front Command, the Philippine embassy, and legitimate news outlets.
The OWWA’s hotline 1348 is open at all hours every day. One may also contact them through Viber, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger.
