A total of 100 Filipinos from Abu Dhabi safely returned to the Philippines aboard Emirates Flight EK334, which arrived at NAIA Terminal 3 on the evening of April 18.
Upon arrival, the repatriates were immediately assisted by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and other partner agencies to ensure their smooth entry and provide necessary support.
They were given assistance such as meals, transportation, and temporary accommodation for those still traveling to their respective provinces.
In a statement, the agencies emphasized that the repatriation efforts are being carried out in line with the directive of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., through a whole-of-government approach aimed at safeguarding the welfare and safety of Filipinos worldwide.
“We are committed to ensuring that every Filipino, wherever they are in the world, receives the care and assistance they need, especially in times of repatriation,” the government said in a statement.
The agencies added that similar efforts will continue as part of ongoing support programs for overseas Filipino workers in distress.
