The Office of the Vice President has extended its free ride service in the National Capital Region as commuters brace for a three-day transport strike from April 21 to 23, 2026.
According to OVP's announcement, the “Libreng Sakay” program will have one additional hour of service in the morning and another hour in the evening to accommodate more passengers.
The initiative aims to help workers, students, and other commuters affected by the expected disruption in public transportation during the strike period.
According to the OVP, the expanded operating hours are part of its continued efforts to provide assistance and ensure mobility for residents who rely on daily public transport in Metro Manila.
The transport strike is expected to affect major routes across the capital region, prompting government agencies to implement mitigation measures to ease commuter hardship during the period.
