The Office of the Vice President (OVP) have begun extending aid to families affected by the phreatic eruption of Bulusan Volcano in Sorsogon.

In an Instagram story on Monday, outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo published an image showing they loaded the first batch of relief goods from the OVP on Sunday evening.

"This was last night, loading our first batch of relief goods for Sorsogon," she said.

"So proud of our team for responding very quickly, all the time."

The image follows Robredo's statement on Sunday afternoon where she said they are preparing relief operations in Bulusan, Sorsogon, and its surrounding areas.

She added that her team will be heading to Sorsogon as soon as possible to extend aid.

"Our team will be travelling to Sorsogon ASAP. Will continue to update you of other needs," she said.

Alert Level 1 has been raised over Bulusan Volcano after a phreatic eruption on Sunday morning.
