More than 82,000 families were affected by Tropical Storm Verbena before it left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) recorded.
RH Edniel Parrosa reports that over half of the affected families are from the Negros Island Region, which faced severe flooding. Meanwhile, thousands more were impacted across MIMAROPA, Regions 6 and 7, and Caraga.
Currently, 13,246 families, or 45,681 people, remain in evacuation centers. Two are still reported missing in Negros, while two others were injured in Region 4B.
Authorities' relief operations are ongoing, and are monitoring in the hardest-hit areas.
