A total of 5,342 individuals, or 1,655 families, remained in evacuation centers in Quezon City as of Wednesday night following heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon, or habagat, and Tropical Depression Neneng.

The Quezon City government said the evacuees were staying at designated evacuation sites in flood-prone areas and locations at risk of landslides as a precaution against the continuing inclement weather.

The local government continues to provide assistance to the evacuees while monitoring weather conditions and their impact on communities across the city.

The evacuation update was issued at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Residents needing emergency assistance may contact the Quezon City Helpline at 122.
