More than 2.7 million passengers have passed through the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) from December 19 to New Year’s Day, slightly lower than the projected three million expected by January 5.

According to PITX Corporate Affairs and Government Relations Director Jason Salvador, over 100,000 passengers were recorded on New Year’s Day alone, with a surge expected over the weekend and until Monday as travelers return from their home provinces.

Several trips from Bicol to Metro Manila are already fully booked, including buses operated by Philtranco, Amihan, and Superlines.

Bus companies have assured the public that additional units will be deployed to accommodate walk-in and chance passengers.
