The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) have nabbed 244 individuals in anti-crime, anti-illegal drugs and anti-gambling operations during the last week of October to All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

In a report by RH 5 Val Gonzales, QCPD Director Pol. Col. Randy Glenn Silvio said these operations were carried out as part of a campaign to maintain peace and order in the city, especially during Undas.

Of the 244 arrested, 68 suspects were seized during the 47 anti-illegal drug operations conducted from October 26 to November 1. Drugs valued at over ₱1,050,000 were confiscated.

The campaign against wanted persons yielded 83 arrests, including 35 “Most Wanted” persons. Among the arrested was alias “Nestor,” who faces a case in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and managed to avoid capture for 15 years.

QC police’s 39 operations against illegal gambling also resulted in the arrest of more suspects, who are now facing charges before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

Moreover, 15 people were discovered carrying prohibited weapons.

Despite this, PCol. Silvio said the commemoration of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days in Quezon City was peaceful.
