A man was rescued after becoming trapped in a drainage canal in Barangay Tatalon, District IV, Quezon City.
According to Barangay Captain Emmanuel “Kiko” Del Mundo, jealousy allegedly led to the incident.
According to the barangay, the man said he saw his wife with another man on Wednesday night, September 23. He was allegedly chased by the other man, causing him to panic and prompting him to jump from a bridge into the river.
“Batay sa kanyang salaysay, tumalon umano siya mula sa isang tulay patungo sa ilog matapos niyang makita ang kanyang asawa na may kasamang ibang lalaki. Ayon pa sa kanya, hinabol umano siya ng nasabing lalaki kaya, sa kanyang taranta, ay napatalon siya at napadpad sa lugar kung saan siya kalaunan natagpuan at na-rescue,” the post said.
The barangay said the river’s current carried him into a drainage canal, where he remained trapped until he was rescued the following day.
The Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO) immediately responded to the incident and successfully rescued the man, according to barangay officials.
