The emergency room of the Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center (OMMC) exceeded its capacity by 171% on Thursday night, Nov. 5, prompting hospital officials to advise patients to consider seeking emergency care at nearby hospitals.
In a statement posted by the Manila Public Information Office, OMMC urged patients needing emergency care to bear potentially long waiting times or consider going to other nearby hospitals that can still accommodate additional patients.
Ambulances from the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department are also ready to assist in transferring patients to other facilities, if necessary, the hospital said.
OMMC apologized for the inconvenience and asked for the public's understanding as it continues efforts to provide appropriate attention and care to every patient.
“Hinihiling sa mga pasyenteng nangangailangan ng emergency care na magpasensya habang naghihintay o ikonsidera ang pagpunta sa iba pang kalapit na ospital na may kakayahang tumanggap ng karagdagang pasyente.”
