Colombia’s Camila Osorio sweeps past Argentina’s Solana Sierra 6-0, 6-1 to secure her spot in the final of the inaugural Philippine Women’s Open (PWO) on Friday, January 30, at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Osorio dominated from the first point, combining sharp groundstrokes with relentless pressure that left Sierra struggling to keep up. The Argentinian committed a series of unforced errors, allowing Osorio to run away with the first set and maintain a stranglehold throughout the match.
Though Sierra tried to rally in the second set, Osorio’s precision and consistency proved too much. Multiple breaks of serve sealed a swift victory in just over an hour, a near-shutout that highlighted the Colombian’s top form.
The win sets up a highly anticipated final clash against World No. 72 Donna Vekic of Croatia, promising a thrilling conclusion to the first-ever Philippine Women’s Open.
Osorio will look to carry the confidence from her dominant semifinal performance into the championship match, aiming for her first PWO crown on Saturday, January 31 at 4 PM.
