

Chaos erupted at the Senate entrance during a confrontation between the personnel of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Office of the Sergeant at Arms (OSAA) on Monday evening, May 11.
According to a report by RH 28 Raymund Dadpaas, one OSAA personnel attempted to block NBI agents from leaving Senate premises.
Earlier, they were cited in contempt for chasing Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa in an effort to serve him an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The agents wrestled with the OSAA personnel and even endeavored to ride off with him in their car, although other OSAA personnel managed to retrieve him.
The OSAA personnel tackled by agents were immediately rushed back into the Senate building. He suffered a facial wound after being tackled and slammed to the ground.
NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag later arrived at the Senate and is expected to speak with the new Senate leadership.
The NBI, with former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, came for Senator dela Rosa with an arrest warrant from the ICC. Dela Rosa claimed he had been chased and physically assaulted by the NBI agents, as captured by CCTV footage.
