The Office of the Ombudsman confirmed that it has received the partial committee report transmitted by the office of Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson regarding alleged anomalies in multibillion-peso flood control projects.

Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano confirmed that the transmittal of the partial report had been officially received from Lacson’s office.

“I am confirming receipt of the transmittal of the partial committee report from the office of Senator Ping Lacson,” Clavano said.

“The relevant information will be cascaded to the teams in charge of the different flood control cases for their perusal and use, if necessary,” Clavano told reporters.

The report contains the results of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s investigation into alleged anomalies involving flood control projects across the country.

Earlier, Lacson said the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee would transmit its gathered evidence to the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Office of the Ombudsman as part of its ongoing probe.

The development effectively places the committee’s initial findings on the official record, allowing both the DOJ and the Ombudsman to use the material for case build-up and possible legal action.

Among those named in the report are Senators Francis "Chiz" Escudero, Joel Villanueva, and Jinggoy Estrada.

Also included are former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Leyte Rep. and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and former House Appropriations Committee Chair and AKO Bicol Party-list Rep. Elizaldy "Zaldy" Co.

The committee recommended that those named be subjected to preliminary investigation, fact-finding inquiry, or case build-up for possible violations, including direct bribery, graft and corrupt practices, and plunder.

The Office of the Ombudsman said the submitted information will be evaluated by its assigned teams as part of its ongoing review of flood control-related cases.
