The Department of Energy (DOE) has confirmed a significant increase in petroleum product prices starting tomorrow, Tuesday, January 20.
According to Rodela Romero, Assistant Director of the DOE’s Oil Industry Management Bureau, diesel prices will rise by ₱2.00 per liter. Gasoline will go up by ₱1.00 per liter, while kerosene will increase by ₱1.50 per liter.
Romero cited growing concerns over escalating tensions in Iran as the main factor behind the price adjustments. The situation could potentially disrupt crude oil supply from the fourth-largest producer in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), she added.
Consumers are advised to prepare for higher fuel costs in the coming days, as the DOE monitors developments in the Middle East closely.
