

The Department of Energy (DOE) has requested oil companies to temporarily defer increases in gasoline and diesel prices this week.
RH Jecelle Riocafort reports that this was confirmed to DZRH News by the DOE-Oil Industry Management Bureau (OIMB) following a meeting between agency officials and representatives of oil companies.
Seven companies have positively responded to the request and are now implementing a price freeze in areas most affected by the recent typhoon. These companies include:
The OIMB emphasized that the price freeze is not nationwide but only covers areas most severely hit by the disaster, based on a list to be released by the companies.
It can be recalled that price freezes under the Price Act applied only to LPG and kerosene.
