National University-Mall of Asia suspended in-person classes Thursday morning, September 3, following a reported potential bomb threat at its campus in Pasay City.

According to a report by RH Jecelle Rifacort, the university shifted to remote synchronous learning in the morning while authorities assessed the reported threat.

Onsite classes and examinations are scheduled to resume at 1 p.m.,

NCR Police Office spokesperson Maj. Hazel Asilo said a staff member of the NU Safety Office received, through Messenger, a screenshot of a threatening conversation that was posted on the school's Facebook page.

The threat was immediately reported to the police at around 7:40 a.m., prompting authorities to deploy personnel from the Pasay Explosive Ordnance Disposal and K-9 Unit, the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Pasay City Police investigation section to assess the area.

Police are verifying the reported bomb threat and investigating who may be behind the warning.

The university initially suspended face-to-face classes for the morning as a precaution while the investigation continued.

Students are expected to return to onsite classes and examinations in the afternoon, unless authorities or the university announce further changes.
