The National University Pep Squad won its ninth UAAP Cheerdance crown on Saturday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, setting a new record for the most championships in UAAP history.

The team scored 695 points with a ninja-themed routine that featured high-risk stunts, tosses, and pyramids.

Despite a minor slip in the final pyramid, NU delivered a clean and precise performance, highlighted by a flyer spinning mid-air before landing safely on the base.

“This victory is for everyone who has believed in us,” said NU head coach Gab Bajacan. “It brought our community closer and gave more meaning to our championships.”

NU also led in tosses (81 points), pyramids (87 points), technique (145 points), and choreography (103 points). The squad received several special awards and took home ₱160,000 in cash and MWell watches.

Adamson University Pep Squad finished second with 659 points, narrowly beating Far Eastern University Cheering Squad, which scored 658.5.

FEU outperformed Adamson in several categories, including tumbling, stunts, and technique, but 22 point deductions cost them the title.

The University of the East Pep Squad placed fourth with 623 points, followed by UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe (618.5), UP Pep Squad (558), De La Salle Animo Squad (546.5), and Ateneo Blue Eagles (436.5).

NU’s win surpasses UST Salinggawi and UP Pep Squad for the most UAAP cheerdance titles.
