The Northern Police District (NPD) on Friday strongly condemned the fatal shooting of a vlogger known as “Mima Alicia” in Caloocan City and announced the creation of a special task group to investigate the case.
In a statement, the NPD said Alicia Lipata, a blogger, was killed while her live-in partner was wounded in the attack that occurred early Friday, July 17, in Barangay 171.
Authorities have activated the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) “MIMA” to ensure a focused, thorough and swift investigation.
“The SITG has been directed to employ all available investigative and intelligence resources to identify, locate and apprehend the perpetrators and establish the motive behind this crime,” the NPD said.
The police extended condolences to Lipata’s family and loved ones and expressed hope for the immediate recovery of the injured victim.
The NPD also urged the public to cooperate with authorities by providing any information that may help in the investigation, assuring that all tips will be treated with strict confidentiality.
Witnesses and individuals with relevant information were advised to contact the Caloocan City Police Station or the nearest police unit.
The NPD said it remains committed to upholding the rule of law, ensuring public safety and delivering justice for the victims and their families.
